Apes of the State

April Hartman founded Apes of the State as a bedroom folk punk project in Lancaster, PA in 2015, drawing early influence from Pat the Bunny and Paul Baribeau. The band's full lineup includes Hartman on vocals and acoustic guitar, Elliot Lozier on mandolin and electric guitar, Mollie Swartz on violin, and Ian Cornele on drums. Their debut full-band LP, This City Isn't Big Enough, appeared in 2016, followed by Pipe Dream in November 2019.
